James Miller

Head Trainer

James Miller is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer who grew up learning the craft from his father, a trainer with over 20 years of experience. Dogs and training have been a part of his life from the very beginning, not something he picked up as a side hobby.

James trained at the National K-9 School and has worked across a wide range of disciplines, including service-dog nonprofits, hunting retriever programs, breeders, and rescue organizations. That background gives him a well-rounded, real-world understanding of dogs at every stage, temperament, and purpose.

In addition to training, James is also a Golden Retriever breeder, giving him deeper insight into genetics, temperament, development, and long-term success in dogs. James brings a calm, structured, no-nonsense approach to training

Our Approach

We aim to have all our dogs pre-exposed to all things they may run into in the real world. We have them around kids, dogs, cars, busy streets, loud noises, etc. After we teach all the obedience, the goal then is to increase the number of distractions they can perform under. We take them to different places indoors and out and practice obedience in order to teach them to always be focused on you, regardless of external factors. This right here is the key to having an obedient dog. If they can sit for a second with no distraction, that's good. If they can sit in the middle of a ton of distractions and hold it with their attention solely on you, thats a lot better!

Our Mission

Our goal is to help people get set up for success with their puppies so they can be confident and truly enjoy the full experience of getting a new puppy. We focus on obedience so people can incorporate their dogs more into their everyday life. We strive to make all our families very confident to travel with their puppies without fear. We have lifelong relationships with all of our families and see them as an extension of our own! After we work with your dogs and you, we are then available to you 24/7. In the event of an emergency or a random question, our line is always open!
